Cultural Appreciation 

Training

NITES Cultural Appreciation Training (NCAT) is a full day face-to-face program delivered by qualified award winning Aboriginal facilitators that use real life experiences to heighten the learning experience for participants.  It is designed to give employees a greater appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders culture, customs and traditions as well as providing tools and techniques to communicate and engage effectively with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.  

 

The aim of NCAT is for participants to:     

  • Gain an appreciation of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander customs, cultures, values and traditions     

  • Gain the ability to see issues from other perspectives in a cultural context    

  • Understanding of issues affecting Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people    

  • Increase engagement with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people, communities and businesses    

  • Increase opportunities for Aboriginal and Torres Strait people

 

NCAT will give you the foundation to build environments that are culturally safe which will position your organisation as an employer of choice for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander people. In addition it will reduce cultural risks within the workplace, change the attitudes and behaviours of your workforce, increase engagement and assist to successfully attract and retain Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander staff.
