NITES Objectives:

 

  1. To provide education, training and employment opportunities to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people with little or no experience in the workforce;

  2. To provide education and training to Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  school students to obtain nationally recognised qualifications, increase retention rates and create employment pathways

  3. To encourage industry growth and development through industry specific skills enhancement of the next generation of workers;

  4. To provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  youth and unemployed with pathways out of welfare dependence;

  5. To provide a better understanding of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  affairs to the public and private sector; and

  6. To assist the public and private sectors to in engaging with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  individuals and communities.

 

The Vision

 

  • To be recognised as an facilitator of choice for organizations to utilize for recruitment of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  people

 

  • To provide Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  people with the right tools and attributes they need to secure employment:

 

  • To provide both public and private sector organisations with good understanding and awareness of Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  culture, customs and traditions to be able to work along side Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  colleagues.

 

  • To provide both public and private sector organisations with techniques to engage with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander  communities and individuals.

Clinton Scott-Knight 

Darren Knight

NITES Directors and brothers Clinton Scott-Knight and Darren Knight are Wiradjuri/Ngunnawal men and are directly involved with the program delivery and development.  Both have a strong focus on sound governance and ongoing development of close relationships with corporate partners, government and the wider community.

 

Clinton and Darren have over 30 years combined experience in Aboriginal affairs holding several senior management positions at national, state and community levels in both public and private sectors. 

  

NITES prides itself in having the ability to design and implement programs that are relevant for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander peoples and has been recognised in doing so.  NITES Directors were runner up at the 2017 APS Diversity Awards for their Cultural Appreciation Program with the Department of Health.  They have also been recipient of awards such as the ACT trainer of the year award (2008) Runners up Australian trainer of the year award  (2008) AIM Young Indigenous Manager of the Year Award (2009), NAB Schools First Award (2010) and the ACT VET in schools award (2010).
